In areas like Central Park, the average last freeze can arrive as early as March 31 due to warmer urban conditions, while surrounding regions such as Long Island and parts of the Hudson Valley typically see their final frost closer to mid-April. Trader Joe’s expands recall on some frozen foods sold in NY State Trader Joe's has recalled several frozen products, including its vegetable fried rice, due to possible glass contamination linked to carrots. Nearly 10 million pounds of items are affected nationwide, including in New York, with additional products like chicken fried rice, Japanese-style fried rice, and chicken shu mai also included. The recalled vegetable fried rice has best-by dates from Feb. 28 through Nov. 19 and UPC 00521482. Building Homes For Heroes: Honoring Our Heroes 5K Run/Walk Lace up for a great cause at this community 5K event on April 4, 2026, at Eisenhower Park (Field 2). The morning kicks off with a Kids Fun Run at 8:00 AM, followed by the wheelchair/hand cyclist start at 8:25 AM and the 5K at 8:30 AM—rain or shine. Participants will receive a t-shirt, with finisher medals awarded to the first 150 runners. Enjoy pre- and post-race stretching, refreshments, free finish-line photos, and live results.
