State initiative supporting student parents on Long Island Student parents at Nassau Community College may soon have greater access to child care under a statewide expansion announced by Kathy Hochul. The initiative will add more infant and toddler care spaces at several State University of New York community colleges, helping student parents balance school and family responsibilities. The effort also supports the SUNY Reconnect program, which offers free tuition and supplies to adults ages 25–55 pursuing associate degrees in high-demand fields. State officials say expanded child care will help remove barriers and make it easier for working parents to enroll and complete their studies. Click here to read the entire article

Weather For The Week

A Final Note with a quote
During these difficult and uncertain times in our world, we ask you to join us in prayer for the families affected by the ongoing war in the Middle East. Our hearts go out to those who have lost loved ones and to the communities that continue to endure hardship and uncertainty. In moments like these, compassion and unity matter more than ever.
As a community, we must continue to look out for one another. These are times that call for patience, understanding, and support. By sharing information, offering resources, and spreading positive energy, we can help guide each other through the challenges we face together.
We encourage each of you to check in on friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers who may need encouragement. A kind word, a moment of listening, or a gesture of support can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. Caring for one another—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually—helps strengthen the bonds that hold our communities together.
Thank you again for allowing Nassau Plus to be part of your lives. Let’s continue to stand together, support one another, and move forward with hope.
With appreciation,
The Nassau Plus Team
