Important Election Notice: Don't Toss That Letter Away
If you've recently received a letter from the Nassau County Board of Elections, take a moment to read it carefully before setting it aside. The Board has mailed notices to voters informing them that some polling locations have been temporarily changed for the upcoming primary election. While election officials routinely make adjustments to polling sites for a variety of logistical reasons, it's important that every voter knows exactly where they are expected to cast their ballot.
Too often, official election mail is mistaken for junk mail and thrown away without a second thought. We encourage all Nassau County residents to open the letter, review the information, and keep it in a safe place until after Election Day. Double-check your polling location, election date, and any other instructions included in the notice. Taking a few minutes now can help avoid confusion later.
Voting is one of the most important rights we have as citizens. Regardless of your political views or party affiliation, protecting your ability to vote starts with staying informed. While polling place changes are often routine, being unaware of a location change could create unnecessary challenges on Election Day. The best way to protect your vote is to know where to go before you leave home.
At Nassau Plus, we encourage every eligible voter to remain engaged, informed, and prepared. Read the notice, save it, share the information with family members who may not have seen theirs yet, and make a plan to vote. Your voice matters, your vote matters, and protecting both begins with paying attention to the details.
Don't ignore that letter. Read it. Save it. Protect your vote.

Weather For The Week

A Final Note with a quote
A Letter to Our Readers
Before we begin this week's edition, we want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the New York Knicks on winning the NBA Championship, ending a 53-year wait for the title. For generations of fans, this moment has been more than a victory on the basketball court, it has been a testament to patience, perseverance, loyalty, and hope. New Yorkers know a thing or two about those qualities.
There is something special about being a New Yorker. We come from different backgrounds, neighborhoods, cultures, and beliefs, yet we share a resilience that has carried us through challenges both big and small. We work hard, support our families, look out for our communities, and keep moving forward no matter what obstacles stand in our way. It is that spirit that makes New York unlike anywhere else in the world.
Over the past week, we watched people from every walk of life come together to celebrate. While every large gathering may have its share of unfortunate moments, what stood out most was the joy, pride, and unity felt across the city and beyond. For a brief moment, strangers became neighbors, differences took a back seat, and a shared sense of belonging filled the streets. We hope that same spirit can continue long after the championship celebrations end, helping to build bridges between neighbors, fostering understanding, and reminding us that we have far more in common than what divides us.
As always, thank you for spending another week with Nassau Plus. We are grateful for every reader who joins us to discover local events, community stories, great restaurants, volunteer opportunities, and the people who make Nassau County such a wonderful place to call home.
As you enjoy the week ahead, we encourage you to take time for family, friends, and the simple moments that bring happiness. Celebrate the victories, support one another through the challenges, and continue to be the kind of neighbor that helps make our communities stronger.
With gratitude, pride, and hopes for brighter days ahead, we wish you a wonderful week filled with good health, joy, and peace.
Warmly,
The Nassau Plus Team
Local. Connected. Hopeful.
I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.' Muhammad Ali
