Students in Nassau County and across New York are circumventing new "bell-to-bell" school phone bans by using dummy phones in pouches, hiding devices in clothing, or exploiting loopholes in Yondr pouch systems. While the state-mandated, 000-student policy requires securing internet-enabled devices, students have found ways to keep phones accessible. Students are placing old, broken, or fake phones in Yondr pouches or designated storage, while keeping their active devices hidden. Students have discovered methods to unlock or bypass the security mechanisms of Yondr pouches, sometimes by purchasing magnet release systems online. Phones are being hidden in clothing, lining, or bags, despite rules that backpacks are not considered compliant storage. As parents let’s chip in and help our school systems by speaking to our kids and letting them know the importance and reasoning for the current bans. Thank you.

Dear Nassau Plus Readers,
From all of us on the editorial team, thank you. Your continued support, attention, and participation mean more to us than words can fully express. This newsletter is not just something we publish—it’s something we share with you, and it grows stronger because of your presence.
In these tumultuous times across our world, we want you to know that you are not alone. We hold you, your families, and our global community in our thoughts and prayers. Even in uncertainty, there is something powerful that remains constant—the resilience of the human spirit.
History has shown us that while we may face challenges and even suffer losses along the way, our collective strength endures. Time and again, humanity has weathered storms, risen after setbacks, and ultimately prevailed. The forces that seek to break us have never proven stronger than the will that drives us forward.
So we ask you to continue this journey with us. Stay engaged. Stay hopeful. Stay connected. Most importantly—believe.
With appreciation,
The Nassau Plus Team
